WHAT IS JAGGO FUNCTION
Jaggo Is the name of Indian wedding party, which is mainly celeberated in punjab. Jaggo is the evening to late night party prior one day to marriage. This function is celeberated by both sides of families of bride and groom. Jaggo function started by decorating matka( Two metal water-jars ) with candles and fairy lights. Punjabi ladies will start their own ladies ceremony and gidha this night. So it is very speacial and exciting event For ladies. Punjabi girls make some dress code or wear speacial type of dresses for this function .
In this post I am Sharing some ideas to design SPEACIAL Punjabi Outfit only for jaggo.
Over Jacket Dress:
This Type of dress will create speacial appearance for the function. It is designed by taking seperate crop jacket to wear over the punjabi shirt or you can sew the jacket shape of different color along with your shirt . this jacket should be waist lenght to hip lengh as per your choice. Silver Sequins Pattern Fabric :-
For evening parties this is the best suited material for camera photo or video aspect. Different geometric patterns like mesh (jaal) , triangle, diamond, lines (vertical/ Horizontal) embellish with sequin embroidery giving the outfit a alluring appearance. I recommend to try sequin vertical line shirt with plain salwar and plain chunni with four-sided gota lace. This is another very attractive design for occassional events. When you have less time and you want to ready beautyful dress, the go for this trick. Take any shinny fabric like satin, silk or velvet and stich the outfit of your choice. I suggest to go for Above knee shirt with tulip salwar. Buy some readymade patches of golden color and place on the border of deep V-neck of the kameez. To complete this look carry chiffon sequin embroidered chunni with it.
Brocade Print Suits:-
Brocade Print fabric is designed the same way as self print fabric, having additional features of golden jacquard motifs on the fabric. I recommend to design it only on bust part, lower border part, as neckline line border. in case you want to do it allover fabric,use maximum ten / twelve mirrors.
Allover Sequin With Embroidery:
Sequin work fabric of different pattern is very trendy these days . This is best type of embroidery for function use, because it have bright and radient glow on fabric. Foil print fabric is the lighter version of brocade type fabric. This fabric is printed using matellic Foil paper to create shinny patterns. Unlike brocade golden thread, foil fabric prints can create shiny silver , golden and every color appearance on fabric. This fabric is cheaper than brocade. If you want to design something striking but under the budget, then this is the best option for you. Foil print comes in different geomatric figures and floral patterns. You can design allover foil print suit with velvet dupatta to create magnificent look.
Floral Heavy Dupatta:
Floral patterns gain much popularity these days, it could be of any type either floral print, floral selfprint or floral embroidery. Phulkari and kutch embroidery are some examples of floral pattern where mutlicolor threads are used used to make beautyful motifs, leafs and geometric shapes. you can carry heavy floral dark colored dupatta with satin fabric Shirt and salwar of metellic color shades. Black Suit For Jaggo:
Black color is the unique color among other as it don't emit color and light. Black color can be contrast with any neon color for attractive look. You can also wear allover black suit with Metellic color embroidery on Backneck and full sleeves by adding neon or bright color dupatta with it. I suggest you to try white-golden embroidery on Full sleeves and back neck with neon green chunni with silver border. Wear nude color or transparent heels to complete the look.
Gota Patti Embroidery:
Gota patti is the embroidery which is carved by Golden and silver silk thread . This type of embroidery was invented in rajasthan.It gives shinny and attentive look on both light and dark shades of fabric. Gota patti patterns incude differnt type of handmade flowers and geometric shapes. Readymade gota patti laces are available in market. My suggestion is to use gota patti embroidery on one piece on the outfit, either use it on shirt, bottom or dupatta.
Chikankari Dupatta / Chikankari suit :
When we talk about chikankari embroidery, it is just full of elegance. Mostly we use chikankari for casual basis, but we can carry it on occassional event also. Full chickankari kurti with palazo give you very ravishing appearance. To try this fabric for party events, take the chiffon or chinon fabric designed with sequin and thread embroidery. You can create this by placing readymade chikankari lace on Borders like deep neckline border, shirt lower-border and sleeves cuff part. Carry full chikenkari dupatta adorn with tiny beads and sequins(around edges of flowers and leafs) allover the dupatta.
