Mehandi is Considered as symbol of colorful life and used for adornment purpose for womens on the auspicious occassions. It is popular among ladies at the time of their wedding or other lucky timings. it is applied on the hands and feets of girl on her wedding day, which indicate the starting of colorful life ahead.
Mehandi is divided into various country levels, as women all over the world use it according to their own customs or rituals. Based on the country level, we can see the change in pattern/designs of mehandi which reflect and symbolize different culture of different countries.
According To the Classification of Countries, Mehandi is mainly of seven types as below.
1) Indian Mehandi:-
Indian Mehandi reflect indian culture and universal symbols and natural things which include moon, sun, leafs, petals. Now days most used design tecnique is to print the art of religious love couple(radha-krishna), traditional water pots (matka), portait of bride and groom, cage of birds etc. All these designs include the lifestyle of indian people.
2) Pakistani Mehandi:-
Pakistani mehandi design symbolize way of living of pakistani peoples which indicate pattern of muslim religious places like dome shape, net design (jaali), multiple fold rosette, Motifs etc. Mughal or islamic culture is the popular among art and paintings which reflect natural plants like rose, lotus flowers, stem leafs. Mandalas (circular pattern) is the trendy design of pakistani mehandi.
3) Arabic mehandi:-
Arabic mehandi design differentiate other mehandi design with broad border lines. Shapes used in arabic mehandi are more simple and unique. Most used pattern in arabic mehandi design are paislay of different types in different direction of tight and loose pattern. Paisley pattern is most often used pattern in mehandi design which enhance the appearance of mehandi design.
4) Punjabi Mehandi :-
Punjabi Mehandi is differnt among other mehandi designs. it is not much complicated and tight mesh like arabic and indian mehandi design. It include Filled circle of small and large side on hands at middle part of the hand and Distal phalanges part of fingers ( top most part of finger).
It is very simple , divergent and attractive in appearance. Punjabi mehandi is less time consuming to engrave this type of design pattern.
5) Gujrati Mehandi:-
Gujrati culture is the glimpse of traditional art like 4 pointed stars, 8 pointed starts, circular bangles type pattern, printing thick and thin lines for sleeve design . Circular lines on the arm and finger shows their cultural accessories . drawing garba is the famous art of gujrati mehandi wher garba is the symbol of gujrati festival .
6) Morroccan Mehandi:-
Morroccan mehandi is the art of filling patterns within the sequare, rectangle and triangle shapes. It contain multiple triangle and rectangle of different size. it give different and attractive look from other mehandi designs because it sparkle the mehandi design as patches of different shapes with tight mesh of patterns and joining the shapes with differnt design of lines.
7) Western Mehandi :-
Western Mehandi design Represent the western art and design which include tight mesh of different shapes which looks bit complicated and tight mesh type design over the hand with thin spaces of borders. these type of designs looks like tattoos which include accessories design , natural art, motifs etc.
